Dr. Manoj K Goel is the Principal Director and Head, Department of Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. He completed MBBS and MD from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow. He received advanced training in Interventional Pulmonology at University of Lille, France; Critical Care at Erasme University Hospital, Brussels, Belgium; Sleep Medicine at Prince Royal Alfred Hospital, Sydney; and EBUS Bronchoscopy at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Australia.

He is a fellow of the National College of Chest Physicians, Indian Chest Society, Indian Society of Critical Care, Indian Sleep Disorders Association, and Indian Association of Bronchology. He is also a member of the European Respiratory Society and American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. Goel is a pioneer in pulmonary interventions, video bronchoscopy, sleep medicine, noninvasive ventilation, and medical thoracoscopy in India. He has co-authored several Indian guidelines on Diagnostic Bronchoscopy, Medical Thoracoscopy, EBUS Bronchoscopy, and Sleep Practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He is an expert in managing challenging respiratory diseases like asthma, COPD, lung fibrosis, allergic respiratory disorders, pleural effusion, and life-threatening lung infections. He also specializes in advanced bronchoscopic procedures such as EBUS, Radial EBUS-guided lung biopsy, Cryotechnique, Electrosurgical tumor removal, airway stenting, and thoracoscopic diagnosis of pleural diseases.

Dr. Goel has expertise in early detection of smoking-related respiratory diseases and sleep disorders. His numerous awards include: Life-time Achievement Award 2022 (Indian Chest Society & National College of Chest Physicians), Times Healthcare Achievers Legend Award 2017, ISCCM Chairman Award 2017, Rotary Appreciation Awards (2010 & 2012), and NCCP Young Scientist Award 2005.

He has received Oration Awards by the National College of Chest Physicians and Indian Association of Bronchology (2018, 2020). He was featured in Better India during the COVID pandemic. He has organized many conferences, workshops, and CMEs – most notably NAPCON 2023 in Delhi.

As a leading academician, Dr. Goel authored the book “Bronchoscopy in ICU” available on Amazon worldwide. He has over 50 research publications, including in *Lancet* and *NEJM*. Since 2009, he has trained intensivists in bronchoscopy in ICU and delivered over 1000 guest lectures including 20+ international events.

Aside from his medical contributions, Dr. Goel raises asthma and clean air awareness through print and electronic media. He has appeared on NDTV, ANI, Aajtak, Times Now, WION, and more. He is also an avid kitchen gardener, has planted over 100 trees, and is a fitness enthusiast who runs half marathons regularly.
